Requesting Laptop Loans
Cornell University Library loans out Dell laptops for up to 14 days. You can request laptops in person at Mann Library, or you can use our laptop loan online form. You may use the request form to have a laptop delivered to another library for a more accessible pickup.
- Laptop requests will be processed between 10.00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
- When a laptop is ready you will receive an email from folio-notify@mail.library.cornell.edu.
- Laptops can be picked up at requested location, please check library hours for your location before heading for pick up.
- Laptop requests using the online form need a 12-hour lead-time.
- Patrons can only submit one request at a time.
- The Library currently only offers Dell laptops for loans.
- Any questions regarding your laptop loan period can be sent to mann_circ@cornell.edu.
Due to security requirements, you cannot install software that requires administrator privileges. Browser extensions and portable software are allowed. If you’re missing software needed for coursework, please check out Apps on Demand to see if you have credentials based on your course. If not, reach out to your professor about seeking access to the necessary software.
Filling out this form does not guarantee you a laptop. We strive to fulfill all laptop requests whenever possible. Please note that availability may be limited, especially during periods of high demand near the end of the semester. If we are unable to fulfill a request, we will provide notice as early as possible.
Specialized Equipment
In addition to laptops, we have a selection of specialized equipment available for members of the Cornell community. These include DSLR cameras, video cameras, tripods, audio recorders, projectors and screens, and more. Please select a library location for more details about the type of equipment available and the checkout process.
Printers and Scanners
Printing is available in many library locations for undergraduate and graduate students through CU Print.
Scanning is available on many CU Print printers.
Plotter printing is available at Mann Library.
