Two of Cornell University Library’s leaders are among the 17 “most promising top managers of academic libraries” selected for the 2026 UCLA Library Senior Fellows program, the longest-running leadership development program in the academic library profession.

Jason Kovari (Associate University Librarian for Assessment and Planning, Collections and Technical Services) and Christina Sheley (Associate University Librarian for Research, Teaching, and Engagement) will represent Cornell in the biennial summer program that gathers emerging leaders for an immersive experience of peer learning, collaboration, and leadership development focused on the evolving role of academic libraries. From July 13–31, the hybrid program includes two weeks onsite at UCLA.
Since its founding in 1982, more than 300 fellows have participated in the program, with nearly 100 going on to become library directors, including about 60 at Association of Research Libraries institutions.
