Collections

Cornell University Library’s rich and vast collections encompass printed volumes, digital resources, maps, media, and archival materials. We hold over 8.5 million volumes and over 2.5 million ebooks with over 6 million journal article downloads per year and over 240,000 physical serial titles. Cornell University Library no longer accepts unsolicited book donations for our general collections; these are materials dropped off or sent without prior discussion. This change supports our commitment to sustainable stewardship and ensures we can build collections that best meet current research and teaching needs. While any unsolicited items we receive will be redirected to other organizations, we still welcome advance conversations about materials that may align with the Library’s priorities. We are deeply grateful for your generosity, and if you’d like to support the Library, we invite you to contribute to our Annual Fund or connect with us about other meaningful ways to help strengthen access to knowledge.
